Restaurants + Shopping

Mexico City is a foodie's paradise, with a vast and diverse culinary scene that offers something for everyone. From Michelin-starred restaurants to street stalls, there's no shortage of delicious food to be found in this vibrant city.

Below are some lists we have compiled from family and friends. We recommend making reservations ahead of time.

For World Class Dining (Reservations are a must. Within a mile of hotel)

•Pujol-Using both imagination and delicacy, chef Olvera recombines Mexico’s nearly infinite ingredients and flavors, demonstrating and extraordinary food culture’s potential in obsessive detail… (Polanco $$$$)

•Quintonil- Upscale Mexican cuisine with a tasting menu format. A taste of true Mexican agriculture. (Polanco $$$$)

•Rosetta- Imaginative Mexican cuisine with an eye on the future (Roma Norte $$$)

An all-time favorite

•Contramar (Colonia Roma Norte) and Entremar (Colonia Polanco)- Same chef and menus. Seafood restaurant with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. ($$$)

Around your hotels- All the restaurants around Parque Lincoln are good and fun.

•Spuntino, La Casa Portuguesa, Lampuga, La Unica, Brassi… to mention a few.

Farm to Table

•Máximo Bistrot Local: A relatively new concept for Mexico City, Máximo Bistrot is a true farm-to-table restaurant serving French plates made with Mexican-grown ingredients. (Colonia Juárez)

•EM- Chef Lucho Martinez is probably the buzziest new chef working in CDMX right now. His newest endeavor, Em, is definitely high-end, but it’s also accessible.

If you visit the Saturday market in the south...

•San Angel Inn- Traditional Mexican in an old hacienda (Colonia Coyoacan)

For Tacos

•Taqueria Orinoco- (Roma Norte $)

•Takos Takos- (Parque Lincoln Polanco)

Breakfast-Breakfast in Mexico City is a culinary experience that you do not want to miss. For us, Mexican breakfasts outshine any other breakfasts in the world. They are hearty, bursting with flavor, and oh so satisfying. It’s the meal we're always most excited about!

Rosetta-their pastries are bomb!(Polanco)

Eno-trendy brunch spot from chef Enrique Olvera of Pujol. (Polanco or Roma Norte)

Lalo!- an OG Mexico City Brunch spot. They make some of the best classic Mexican dishes which explains the wait and the higher price tags.(Roma Norte)

El Cardenal- Traditional Mexican restaurant with a focus on breakfast and brunch. (Colonia Centro Histórico)

Maque- Breakfast. Fresh breads, bakery, desserts (Condesa)

A few more

•Merotoro- Sublime surf and turf from one of Mexico’s finest (Condesa $$$)

•Ticuchi- Dark, atmospheric place with some serious culinary delights to discover. Vegetarian and pescatarian takes on Oaxacan cuisine. Pujol chef. (Polanco)

El Morro Churros - Parque México (also a few around the city)

We strongly encourage you to read on (copy and pastel ink below) to see Ceci's, family and friend’s personal comments, to help make your decision. So much to discover!!
